在京都完成煙火職人修行的貫太郎，以江戶為目標踏上東海道之旅。旅途中，覬覦貫太郎煙火製法的剛左衛門與其同夥，還有盜賊、幽靈等各種敵人，接二連三阻擋貫太郎的去路，因此他要投擲甩炮打倒敵人，或使用道具避開敵人，繼續前進。關卡總共有21關，抵達關卡深處的驛站時即可過關。

京の都で花火職人の修行を終えたカン太郎が、江戸を目指して東海道を旅します。旅の道中、カン太郎の花火製造法を狙う剛左衛門とその一味のほか、盗賊、幽霊など、さまざまな敵がカン太郎の行く手を阻んでくるので、かんしゃく玉を投げつけて倒したり、アイテムを使ってやり過ごしたりして進んでいきます。ステージは全部で21あり、ステージの奥にある宿場までたどりつくとステージクリアです。

This island, Futabajima, is located next to a small island Matsukawaooshima in the Seto Inland Sea, and is smaller still. Such is the island you're arrived to. Transport is inconvenient and the latest places of entertainment are nowhere to be found. Locally grown Mikan oranges and freshly harvested marine products are tasty, but that's where the pros end.

But we do have friends the same age as us. The kind of buddies you can just hang out with and still have a good time. And lately I've begun to think that's all I need. Let's go to school together. Let's go swimming together.
