このまま、何事もなく学生生活が終わるんだろうなと思っていた。

意味もなく一番に教室に着いて、ぼんやりと授業を聞き流し、

放課後は早く帰宅することを生き甲斐に、誰とも話すことなく一日を終える。

なにか起これ～！と、天に願ってみることはあれど、俺の青春はとっくに終わっていたのだ。

「私はきらりんハッピー天使ちゃん！幸せで溢れる世の中にしたいの！」

そんな俺の元に、ものすごく胡散臭い天使が桜の花びらと共に舞い降りた。

「君が本当に天使なら、俺を幸せにしてくれ」

「なにそれプロポーズ？自分から幸せになろうとしない人間は救えないよ、さすがの私でも」

「幸せって……なんだろうな」

「それはほら、やっぱ恋じゃね？」

「恋、か」

誰かを好きになったことも、なられたこともない。

そんな俺に、恋ができたのなら。

確かにハッピーな青春が今からでも送れるのかもしれない。

「さあこの天使ちゃんが祝福してあげよう、君が主人公になれるその日までね」

どうやらこれは俺が“主人公”になるまでの、物語────らしい。

And as if in answer to my silent prayers, an unbelievably suspicious angel appeared before me, cherry blossoms swirling around her.

"If you're really an angel, then make me happy."

"Do I take that as a proposal? Not even an angel can help someone who won’t reach for happiness themselves."

"Happiness... But where am I supposed to find mine?"

"That's easy! The answer is love, of course."

"Love, huh..."

I've never been in love, nor has anyone loved me. But maybe, just maybe, if I could fall in love, I might still have a chance to live my youth to the fullest.

"Very well, this Tenshi-chan will bless you until the day you become the true protagonist of your story."

And so begins the story of how I become a "Protagonist"—whatever that means.
