夏休みを間近に控えたある日。

主人公の神崎修一が悪友から渡された「呪いのブルーレイ」を 自宅で再生すると、ブルーレイから出てきた女霊に取り憑かれてしまうのだった。

修一の幼馴染・西蓮寺紫は、由緒正しいお寺の家系でそのテのことに強く、取り憑かれてしまった修一に除霊を行う。

紫の除霊によって怨念は消えた。

だが、紫が未熟だったためか、霊の正体である少女が残ってしまった。

どうやら彼女は映像の中で殺されていた少女で、自分のことを御巫千夜子と名乗り、続けてこう言った。

「私の中に、あと六人、いるんです――」

驚くべきことに、千夜子の中にはさらに六人の少女の霊が混在していた。

紫によると、霊体がこの世に存在できるのは四十九日まで。

一人あたり七日間という短い猶予で、悔いが残らないように彼女たちの未練を果たす。その手伝いをするのが修一の役目になった。

修一は、まだわかっていなかった。彼女たちを一人ずつ見送るということは、別れを七回も繰り返さなければいけないということなのだ。

こうして、七人の少女たちを安らかに終わらせる夏が、静かに始まった……。

One day close to the beginning of summer vacation, Shuuichi was watching a ‘cursed Blu-ray’ given to him by his buddy when a spirit came out from the disc and possessed him. His childhood friend Murasaki belonged to a family that managed an ancient temple, so she tried an exorcism to rid him of the spirit. While the ritual was successful and quelled the vindictive spirit, the spirit girl’s form remained due to her inexperience. Her name was Chiyako, the name of the girl who was killed on screen, and she revealed that the spirits of six other girls dwelled within her.

According to Murasaki, spirits can only remain in this world for 49 days, which meant that there would only be seven days allotted for each of the seven girls. Shuuichi was tasked with helping them achieve happiness so they can leave this world with no regrets. However, it is a very short time to accomplish this task. Also he did not realize at this time that it meant that he would be getting to know each girl well only to bid a painful farewell seven times over.
